A Fair for Entrepreneurs
Last week some of my students attended an entrepreneur-fair. They said afterward that this had been the most educational experience and the funniest day ever! They have been working with this project since August, the brainstorming process started directly after the summer holiday, so this was the final. There were 150 different companies owned by students represented. Some of my students won prices because they had a good concept for Sustainable Development and an interesting business concept.

Hi Bella!! Hope you had a nice Easter holiday. Great to hear that the students enjoy and learn so much during their work with the entrepreneur projekts. And congrats to the students who won prices :))
ReplyDeleteHi Ann :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a nice Easter holiday aswell! Yes, it was fascinating how much they learned but still they wanted to be better and they all said that they will join UF next year! Thank you for the congratulation!
Best Regards,
Bella :)
Hi Bella,
ReplyDeletecongratulations! Are you going to Stockholm for the finals?

Hi Anneli :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, hopefully I´m able to go to Stockholm together with the students. Are the teachers and students at your school involved with UF?
Kind regards,
Bella :)
Can I ask what their sustainable development project was on?
ReplyDeleteBeverley
Hi Beverley,
ReplyDeleteOne company designed bracelets and they made all the pearls and charms out of clay and magic dough (eatable). Another company imported coffee beans from Uganda. We met the children in Uganda (two years ago) and they had recieved the beans that they planted from us. Then the rain, the sun and the soil took care of the following process. When the students from Uganda harvested the beans they let them dry in the sun, the rain took care of the cleaning process and the wind dried them. Then the beans were roasted by the fire. The beans had never been in touch with electricity during the process. The students packed them and sold them in paper bags, recyclable paper bags.
Best Regards,
Bella :)
Hi Bella,
ReplyDeleteYes, this is the first year that our Hotel and tourism students are involved in UF. We will continue next year with the students in second year for the hole class and our third-year students will be able to work with it as diploma work.
How do you do it at your school?
Good night,
/Anneli
Hi Anneli,
ReplyDeleteAs a student you can attend the project as many times as you like. I always start to inform students about UF the first year. Most common is that they join the fair the second year and sometimes the third year as well. The students can choose to work with it as diploma work in our school too but most of them use it because it matches their programme and graduation.
How many of your students work with UF?
Best Regards,
Bella :)
