Marketing

Praktiska provides upper secondary apprenticeship education. The student at the photo, Joakim, does half his education in a toy store. He learns about sales, purchasing, the products and today its marketing. The shop is going to highlight a special brand. Joakim says that he is very satisfied with his choice of education/programme.

  1. Hi Bella

Does the student get paid for his work? Does he still attend high school and work for a day a week. We have similar programs in Western Australia - traineeships and school-based traineeships.

  2. Hi Beverley!

Joakim is a first year student at our upper secondary school. He doesn´t earn money when he´s trying workplace-based learning but I know that he has been working in this toy-store at weekends and when he isn´t in school. When our students are 3rd year students, often in april-june, they are paid and receive employment. Best Regards,
    Bella :)

  3. Do you have traineeships in Sweden. Employers pay for an employee to do on-the-job training. For example, a bank employee may study Certificate III in Accounts Administration and use collect their actual work to submit to me as evidence, instead of doing assignments.

  4. Hi Beverley :)

We do have traineeships in Sweden but I don´t have experience myself. I know that the teacher of the Building and Construction programme talks about it and it seems to be great!

    Have a nice weekend!

    Kind Regards,
    Bella :)

  5. Not many businesses offer traineeships here either. trades traineeships are called apprenticeships here, and they are a very popular way for males to 'earn and learn'. We are trying to break the glass ceiling of girls only able to leave school and 'earn and learn' as hairdressers, so it is a slow process.

  6. Hi Beverley,

Oh, what a great idea! I´ll keep my fingers crossed that it will work for girls as well!

  7. Hi Beverly,
why do companies make a difference regarding gender? Is it due to traditional "male" or "female" professions or what do you think?

    Best Regards
