Workplace-based learning!
Zandra is learning customer service today and tells me that she´s always polite and service-minded. Her workplace-based learning company has a dress code that she has to stick to. Zandra just sold the most expensive car wash and tells the customer that it is really a bargain. She asks the customer if he wants to pay cash or if he would prefer to use a card? When the customer is leaving, Zandra says, "Have a nice day!"
Before the shop opens you have to make sure that everything is in order, Zandra says, that the cash register is ready, the shelves are full of products, unpacking goods is important and you have to make sure that they are correctly priced!

Hi Bella,
ReplyDeleteWhat is the most important thing you look at when you choose APL-companys for your students?
/anneli
Hi Anneli,
ReplyDeleteThat the workplace-based learning company is willing to learn and take part in the students education and invest their time and skills. That the company is aware about the criterias that the student needs to reach and and contributes to that. A company that suits the programme thinks it is great when I want them to sign a contract, talks about insurance and security because then they know that I and the student takes this seriously. It is important to me that the company doesn´t think of my students as free labour!
What is the most important matter according to workplace-based learning companies in your opinion?
Kind Regards,
Bella :)
Hi Bella,
ReplyDeleteI absolutly agree with you. For me it´s also very important what the student de facto will do. Because to reach the goals they have to learn in al departments of a hotel. They can´t just be "drawing sheets" or wipe tables for 15 weeks. But that is probebly also depending on the commitment.
Kind regards
/Anneli
Hi Anneli,
ReplyDeleteYes, there are a lot of factors that need to interact in order for everything to work out!
Best Regards,
Bella :)
