Travel Trade Show

The students had to organise a trade show showcasing an international destination of their choice for the unit 'International,Destinations'. They worked in pairs and some on their own, decorated and set up their tables with brochures, flyers, business cards, ipads with power point presentations, food and some even dressed up. All the other students from other faculties were invited to visit; they asked questions, tasted food, took part in games. The staff also came and it was appreciated by all. The students  put in a lot of effort into it and were so motivated  but exhausted by the end of the day!  This was their assessment. An assessment which they all enjoyed!

  2. Hi Bella. 30 hours for this unit "Source and provide international destination information and advice". The students created flyers, business cards, power point presentations, destination information, posters etc etc. It is quite involved. The students (mostly 17 -19yrs old just out of high school; loved it.

    1. Hi Bella, the students chose the destinations; however since the students do a lot of portfolios, projects and research work in this course, we get them to choose a different destination every time so they learn more this way.
so sorry for the delay in reply

  4. Hi Mamita,
What a great task for students to organize an exhibition with an international destination. Can understand that they are exhausted at the end of the day it requires a lot of work for the task. What is your rating system and how do you assess the students at this task?

    Best regards,
    Gunbritt

  5. Hi Mamita

This is a clever assessment task. It's authentic as well as motivating for the students because they can dream about where they'd like to go.
